Project Forward, the joint development project based on Deltamarin’s B.Delta design, is in discussions with oil major Shell about potential LNG supply options and requirements for globally-trading bulk carriers, tankers and container vessels.
The construction of the Deltamarin-designed bulk carriers for the Finnish ship owner ESL Shipping has been assigned to Sinotrans & CSC main yard, Jinling Shipyard in Nanjing, China. Project Forward, a joint development project to equip the dry bulk carriers of the future with LNG propulsion, has selected Wärtsilä to join the project with its 31DF dual-fuel engine. The project is led by Athens-based bulk carrier owner Arista Shipping, and other participants are Deltamarin, ABS and GTT.
The autonomous ship research project – Advanced Autonomous Waterborne Applications Initiative (AAWA) – which Deltamarin participates in, has unveiled its first-year findings. The objective of the AAWA project is to produce the specification and preliminary designs for the next-generation advanced ship solutions.
