Deltamarin participates in autonomous ship research project
Deltamarin is participating in a two year autonomous ship research project – Advanced Autonomous Waterborne Applications Initiative (AAWA). The project aims at exploring the economic, social, legal, regulatory and technological factors which need to be addressed to make the initiative a reality.
Deltamarin introduces ro-pax of the future
Deltamarin has launched a new showcase ro-pax vessel “DeltaChallenger”. Based on Deltamarin’s extensive experience on developing ship concepts and with the help of well-known partners, a most energy efficient and environmentally friendly vessel has been developed. The design incorporates in unforeseen way the latest technologies available, but not yet used on any other ro-pax vessel.
Deltamarin’s PCTC design gains reputation
The New Horizon class PCTC (Pure Car Truck Carrier) design developed by Deltamarin in close cooperation with the owner Höegh Autoliners, was shortlisted as one of the four nominees for the Nor-Shipping Energy Efficiency Award.

First B.Delta68 SUL bulk carrier ordered
Deltamarin’s B.Delta family has scored further success as the Vulica Shipping Co. Ltd ordered the first ever B.Delta68 SUL (Self-Unloading) vessels. The order for the two bulk carriers was placed with the Chinese Jiangsu Hantong Ship Heavy Industry Co. Ltd. The current orderbook of the B.Delta family includes 121 ships.
RINA selected Deltamarin and Navtech ferry design as significant ship
The Royal Institution of Naval Architects (RINA) has selected the LNG dual fuel ferry “F.-A.-Gauthier” as one of the vessels to be featured in their “Significant Ships of 2014” publication. The vessel concept has been developed by the consortium formed by Deltamarin and Navtech Inc. for the Canadian owner Société des traversiers du Québec (STQ).
First B.Delta43 bulk carrier delivery and new order
The first B.Delta43 bulk carrier vessel, M/V “Venture Goal”, was successfully delivered to the German shipowner Hamburg Bulk Carriers GmbH (HBC) in January 2015. The Deltamarin design has also attracted yet another customer, as Phoenix Shipping & Trading of Greece ordered four B.Delta43 handysize bulk carriers at Qingshan Shipyard.

Deltamarin participates in the design of the first LNG-powered icebreaker
Deltamarin has been awarded a contract by Arctech Helsinki Shipyard Inc. for the entire machinery and technical spaces outfitting production design of the very first LNG-powered icebreaker. The unique vessel is to be built for the Finnish Transport Agency, and aims to reduce emissions and fuel costs by using both diesel and LNG as fuel.
