  • Outline project development including definition of ship main dimensions and capacities; General Arrangement; outline specification; structural drawings; lightweight; hull form; capacities, loading and stability; propulsion, powering and manoeuvrability; study of requirements for alternative LNG fuel; yard contacts
  • Contract design including 3D model and General Arrangement; Machinery Arrangement; gross tonnage calculation; specification; structural principles; lightweight; hull form; tank arrangement and loading conditions; ice model test coordination; stability, intact and damage; powering; electric load analysis
  • Procurement support
  • Support in yard process to shipbuilding contract
  • Development of wider shore link-spans in all intended harbours of new (wider) vessel (the 1Alink-spans needed to facilitate also existing narrower vessels). Simulation of vessels berthing shore link-spans was done in 3D.

Special Features:

  • Very challenging ice conditions on the intended route (shallow sea will freeze almost to bottom) so a lot of effort was put on determining the propulsion power needed for winter/summer conditions and developing and engine and propulsion concept that would be fuel efficient in all seasons.
