The world’s first LNG handysize bulk carriers
Deltamarin Ltd has signed a contract to design the world’s first LNG handysize bulk carriers, which will point the way towards greener shipping of commodities. The two B.Delta26LNG vessels will be constructed for the Finnish shipowner ESL Shipping Ltd by the Chinese Qingshan Shipyard.
Deltamarin and other industry leaders join forces in LNG-powered bulk carrier design
Deltamarin, Arista Shipping, ABS and Gastransport et Technigaz (GTT) launch a joint development project, Project Forward, in applying LNG as fuel to dry bulk carriers of the future. The concept design will be based on the highly-optimised Deltamarin B.Delta design suitable for ships between 82,000 and 210,000dwt.

Deltamarin Ltd and Brevik Technology AS, a VARD affiliate, have joined forces by developing a novel multigas carrier design, which is expected to change the nature of the gas carrying industry. The concept combines in unprecedented way the successful design of Deltamarin’s B.Delta and the new-generation patented cylindrical gas tanks by Brevik Technology.
Deltamarin and Aker Arctic combine excellence in Arctic tanker design
Deltamarin Ltd and Aker Arctic Technology Inc have jointly developed a modern Aframax-sized tanker concept for arctic use, focusing on safe operations. Apart from being ice strengthened and equipped with other novelty features, the vessel will provide cost efficient and reliable tanker operations both in open water and in ice.
Deltamarin introduces a compact ferry design
Deltamarin launched its new ferry design “DeltaLinx” during the BaltExpo 2015 exhibition in the beginning in September in Gdańsk, Poland. DeltaLinx is a compact ferry designed for short coastal routes to link smaller neighbouring towns with an emphasis on minimal environmental footprint.
Deltamarin participates in icebreaking stand-by vessel design
Deltamarin Ltd provides Arctech Helsinki Shipyard with machinery and hull design services for two Arctic icebreaking stand-by vessels to be built for Russia’s largest shipping company Sovcomflot.
DeltaChallenger Shortlisted for the Ship Efficiency Awards 2015
Deltamarin’s ro-pax of the future, DeltaChallenger, has been named as a finalist for the inaugural Ship Efficiency Awards 2015. The concept was selected by the awards panel of judges to become one of the five finalists for “The One to Watch” award.
Deltamarin introduces the future Container Feeder design
Deltamarin is proud to introduce the first state-of-the-art container vessel of its series, the A.Delta2300. The new design provides a flexible platform for a whole series of designs, which can be adapted to various customers’ requirements as a result of several optional feature studies.
Deltamarin participates in autonomous ship research project
Deltamarin is participating in a two year autonomous ship research project – Advanced Autonomous Waterborne Applications Initiative (AAWA). The project aims at exploring the economic, social, legal, regulatory and technological factors which need to be addressed to make the initiative a reality.
