Janne Uotila, M.Sc., eMBA has been appointed Deltamarin’s new Managing Director as of September 1, 2017.
Deltamarin has signed contracts with Rauma Marine Constructions (RMC) for the basic design of deck outfitting and machinery for the vessels to be built in the Finnish Navy’s Squadron 2020 project. The work will be done on the client’s premises in Rauma and Turku and will last until spring 2018.
Development of an intelligent approach to ship propulsion systems is a central aim of the joined research project that Deltamarin’s Polish branch is currently participating in. The Smart Propulsion System (abbreviated to “smartPS”) project is a common undertaking of seven different partners from three European counties.
Deltamarin has signed contracts with the Chinese Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry Co., Ltd for engineering and construction support services for the Viking Line LNG-fuelled ro-pax vessel newbuilding. The contracts cover basic and detail design as well as comprehensive project management support and supervision services to the shipyard during vessel construction.
Reducing operating costs is one of the main concerns of shipping industry. To help ship owners and operators boost the energy efficiency of their vessels, Deltamarin has since day one focused on Energy and Environmental Efficiency (EEE). By applying Deltamarin’s new smart simulation tool, several items with a significant fuel saving potential can be found.
on 1 June 2017, the operations and personnel of Deltamarin Floating Construction (DMFC) were integrated into Deltamarin Ltd. The services and activities previously provided by DMFC will continue within Deltamarin Ltd under a newly formed department called Project Technology Services.
Deltamarin congratulates Hamburg Bulk Carriers (HBC) for winning the Energy Efficiency Award at this year’s Nor-Shipping. Their winning ship, the Venture Joy bulk carrier, is based on Deltamarin’s B.Delta43 design. It is the sixth vessel in the series of 43,500 dwt geared handysize bulk carriers delivered to HBC from the Chinese Qingshan Shipyard.
Deltamarin’s energy-efficient cargo ship family reached yet another milestone as Icelandic Eimskip Ltd and Greenland-based Royal Arctic Line A/S ordered the first three container vessels based on Deltamarin’s design. The ships will be built at the Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard in China, with which Deltamarin (China) Co., Ltd has signed a design contract.
